چکیده

The atmosphere of mountain areas may be contaminated by pollutants originating mainly from road traffic, as well tourist and community activities within such areas. This study aimed to assess the concentrations airborne potentially toxic elements (PTEs) in two Thailand using lichen biomonitoring. Thalli Parmotrema tinctorum relatively unpolluted area Khao Yai National Park (KYNP) were prepared exposed at nine sites KYNP Doi Inthanon (DINP) during rainy dry seasons. transplants collected analyzed for 15 PTEs, including Al, As, Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, Mo, Ni, Pb, Sb, Ti, V, Zn, inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry. result clearly showed that many monitoring both mountains investigated PTEs. contamination factors (CFs) revealed several PTEs heavily sites. pollution load indices (PLIs) illustrated all had higher loads season than season, which was likely due numbers motor vehicles visitors. highest observed traffic density human activities, park entrance site DINP. lowest air discovered summit mountains. indicates can some are produced local communities. It also confirms ability transplanted P. an effective biomonitoring tool natural environments.

Bioactive derivatives obtained from lecanoric acid, a constituent of the lichen Parmotrema tinctorum (Nyl.) Hale (Parmeliaceae)

With the aim of obtaining new compounds with potential antifungal activity, lecanoric acid, a chemical constituent of the lichen Parmotrema tinctorum and its derivatives prepared from structural modification were tested against the fungus Cladosporium sphaerospermum, by employing the bioautographic method. Activity of the derivatives ranged from 10to 1-μg concentrations. Results demonstrated th...

Phenolic constituents from the lichen Parmotrema stuppeum (Nyl.) Hale and their antioxidant activity.

Lichen, Parmotrema stuppeum (P. stuppeum) was successively extracted with benzene and acetone. Both the extracts were fractionated on 1% oxalic acid impregnated silica gel column to obtain four phenolic compounds. The structures of compounds were identified by 1H and 13C NMR spectra as methyl orsenillate, orsenillic acid, atranorin and lecanoric acid respectively. Antioxidant activity of benzen...

Evaluation of stream sediment contamination by potentially toxic elements around mining and farming areas (SE Nigeria)

In this work, the concentrations of the potentially toxic elements in stream sediments in SE Nigeria were assessed for pollution monitoring in mining, quarrying, and farming areas. The levels of iron, molybdenum, vanadium, copper, lead, zinc, nickel, cobalt, manganese, chromium, barium, and beryllium were determined. The concentrations of the elements were in the order of Fe > Ba > Mn > Cr > Zn...

Evaluation of Potentially Toxic Elements Pollution Indices in Rangeland Northwest of Chadegan city (Isfahan Province)

Abstract Today, the pollution of Rangeland soils by various destructive pollutants has become one of the human-environmental problems. Lacking proper management of organic matter discharge can also increase the concentration of salts, heavy metals, and pathogenic microorganisms. In this study, to investigate and measure the concentration of toxic elements, 128 soil samples of Chadegan region w...
